Family pictures

These four pictures are from my Mums side of the family, the bottom three are of her Mum. (my grandma) Who has had that same haircut since I can remember. (She still has it now!) I always wondered what she would look like with longer hair.
I think she looks great in the one on the beach and I love her hat in the bottom one which I think is my Uncles christening.

Family Pics Continued (Army) ....

Although these are all menswear. (The bottom one is a victory day party) Fashion went through drastic changes in wartime. Especially in the days of rations when women had to save up their tokens for a new pair of tights. Or just draw a seam up their legs with an eyebrow pencil so it looked like they had some! Clothes were only for 'need' rather than 'want' and resources were tight.

More family pics!

These pictures are all from my Dad's side of the family, the top four have his parents in. (my grandparents)
In the dinner picture I think my grandparents are the most glamourous ones! (They are 2nd form left, black and orange floral dress) It's funny how all the women have such similar hairstyles and makeup, both were obviously an important trend.

Vintage Fashion- Special Occassions

My Grandparents on their wedding days!
(Above: my Dad's side, Below: my Mum's side.)

I actually think both their dresses are kind of similar, at least in silhouette. It would be great to do a vintage wedding inspired photoshoot (there are enough churches around Tisbury!) If I could track down an old wedding dress on the cheap or a charity shop one I could adjust.

Vintage Fashion

The top picture shows my great-grandma and the two below are my grandmas on either side. I think all 3 of them are glamourous! I am looking for inspiration to do some vintage photoshoots and will defiantly use the top one for hair and accessory ideas. I'm not sure what year it was taken, will have to check with my Grandad....
